1. Controller and contact
ChooseTheStack

Email: nahuel.belisle@gmail.com
2. Hosting and technical logs
ChooseTheStack is hosted by WordPress.com, operated by Automattic group companies. To deliver and secure the site, the hosting infrastructure processes technical request information such as the requested URL, IP address, browser and user-agent details, referrer where provided, and timestamps. The basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: the legitimate interest in providing a secure and reliable website. WordPress.com states that operational web-server and PHP logs may be retained for up to 30 days.
3. Software Finder and Stack Builder
Answers entered into the Software Finder and Stack Builder are evaluated in your browser by the ChooseTheStack plugin. Those answers and resulting recommendations are not sent to or stored by the WordPress site. The tools provide decision support and do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Email contact
If you email us, we process your message and related communication details to respond. The contact account is hosted by Google (Gmail). Depending on the inquiry, the basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual or contractual matters or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for other correspondence. We retain messages only as long as needed for the inquiry and any applicable legal retention duties.
5. Cookies and consent choices
Complianz stores the consent choices you make and provides a control to change them later. The site also uses strictly necessary storage for requested site functions and language preferences. The cookie statement linked from the consent banner lists detected technologies. You can reopen the banner using “Manage consent” in the site footer.
6. Jetpack Stats and the Like feature
Jetpack Stats is enabled to measure page views and interactions. ChooseTheStack presents this as an optional Statistics category in its consent banner. If you consent to Statistics, Automattic/WordPress.com may process your IP address, WordPress.com account ID and username if you are logged in, browser and user-agent information, pages visited, referrer, event timestamp, browser language, and country. Jetpack states that logs containing IP addresses and, where available, WordPress.com usernames are retained for 28 days. The site owner sees aggregate reports, not the identifying log entries.
A Jetpack Like feature is present on the public “Hello World!” post. When that feature is loaded or used, Automattic may process information such as IP address, WordPress.com user ID and name when logged in, connected site ID, post ID, user-agent, timestamp, language, and country. The feature is provided by Automattic/WordPress.com.
7. Other services and content
Koko Analytics is installed but inactive; ChooseTheStack does not use it for new analytics. There are no public user accounts, comments, contact forms, or newsletter registrations. Comments are closed. The site does not currently use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or affiliate tracking. External links lead to third-party providers whose own privacy notices apply after you leave this site.
8. Recipients and international transfers
Automattic group companies process website data for WordPress.com and Jetpack. Google processes email communications for Gmail. These providers may process data in the European Union and other countries, including the United States. Their published privacy and transfer information describes the safeguards they use. The status of the site operator’s separately signed WordPress.com Data Processing Agreement is being verified; this notice does not claim that a completed agreement is in place.
9. Retention
WordPress.com operational logs may be kept for up to 30 days. Jetpack Stats logs containing identifying data are retained by Automattic for 28 days; aggregate statistics may remain available in the dashboard. Email correspondence is kept only as needed for its purpose and applicable legal duties. Finder and Stack Builder answers are not retained on the site.
10. Your rights
Subject to the GDPR, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, or portability and may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time for the future using “Manage consent.” Contact nahuel.belisle@gmail.com to exercise your rights.
